Let’s talk about the little things—because in the world of corporate events, they’re not so little after all.
You’ve done the hard part: agenda? Sorted. Speakers? Confirmed. Slide decks? Ready to roll. But then… you leave the catering to the receptionist, throw out some paper cups, a few warm croissants and call it a day? Oh no, no, no.
If you're here, it’s because you care. You want your corporate event to feel polished, welcoming, and maybe even a little bit unforgettable. So here’s the truth: the details are what people remember.
And trust me, I’ve seen things. Things I can’t unsee. But don’t worry—I’m here to help you fix them.
1. Paper Plates? Are We at a Kid’s Party?
Corporate means professional. Paper plates say “picnic in the park.” Watching someone try to balance a paper plate, a coffee, and small talk is painful. The fix: Hire real plates and cutlery. Affordable, delivered to your door, and you can send them back dirty. No stress, no mess.
2. Sad Sandwiches in a Box
If your thought is, “Well, they’re free, what more do they want?”—please step away from the event planning. The fix: Go for smaller, colourful, well-presented portions. Use proper plates and real forks. Choose a caterer who actually cares. And remember—people talk with food in their mouths, so don’t make the portions huge or awkward.
3. Lunch Table Styling
Dumping food on a table with no thought? Not on my watch. The fix: Add texture, colour, fresh flowers or plants. Think harmony and flow. Make it easy for people to queue, eat, and not feel like they’re in a buffet line at a motorway service station.
4. Coffee That Doesn’t Taste Like Regret
A good coffee can save a dull meeting. A bad one? Career-ending.The fix: Invest in a quality brand. No milk cartons on the table, please. Use thermal jugs, label everything (especially alt-milks), and keep it hot. You’re not just fuelling attendees—you’re showing them you care.
5. Drinks Need to Be Cold. Always.
Warm juice? Flat beer? Fizzy drinks at room temp? I’m sweating just thinking about it.The fix: Chill your drinks. Use a fridge, ice buckets, whatever it takes. It’s a small effort with a big impression.
Feeling Overwhelmed? That’s What I’m Here For.
